Joe Gugliotti Appointed to YMCA Board of Directors

(PROSPECT, CT, February 25, 2005) - Joe Gugliotti was recently appointed to Board of Directors of the Greater Waterbury YMCA. Gugliotti will serve on the Board's Community Awareness Task Force, where he will apply his marketing expertise to improve the public's understanding of the YMCA's charitable mission and services.

"I'm excited about this opportunity because the Y is such an integral part of the community," says Gugliotti. He adds, "Everyone at The Worx Group is committed to this community, and this will be a great chance for me to serve, in some small way, the Waterbury region that's been so good to us."

Andrew Roberts, Executive Director of the YMCA, says Gugliotti will be a strong addition to an already successful team. "Joe, as a lifelong greater Waterbury resident and YMCA member, has always served the Y by volunteering and by being a wonderful YMCA ambassador. Now, in his official capacity he can bring to bear the full power of his network and marketing experience for the good of the community. We are elated to have him on board."

Gugliotti is the former Chairman of the Board of Special Olympics Connecticut and currently sits on the Honorary Board of Directors. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of Community Health Charities Connecticut and sits on the Board of Corporators of the Klingberg Family Centers. He serves on the Business Advisory Council of Post University. He is also a member of many organizations including The Pontelandolfo Community Club and the Waterbury Regional Chamber of Commerce.

The YMCA serves Waterbury, Watertown, Woodbury, Middlebury, Prospect, Thomaston, Southbury, Bethlehem and Wolcott. The nationally accredited preschool and daycare program and school age childcare programs serve a total of 250 families. Summer camps provide healthy, active alternatives for the summer months. The YMCA offers aquatics for all ages, racquetball, aerobics and fitness, teen programs, basketball leagues, and state-of-the-art facilities for their 7,500 members to use for exercise and recreation. Last year the YMCA offered over $100,000 in financial assistance for various camp, membership, and childcare programs.
