Donna Palomba Honored as Woman of the Year

Marketing Executive Recognized for Commitment to the Business Community

(Waterbury, Connecticut - August 22, 2005) Donna Palomba, managing member of The Worx Group, a local marketing firm, received the Waterbury Business Women's Forum 2005 Woman of the Year Award. The award honors one woman each year who has demonstrated a superlative dedication to the local business community. Specifically the nominees must show a real impact in the business community, exemplify leadership, have notable accomplishments and demonstrate community responsibility.

Palomba received the award at the annual Business Women's Forum conference on September 22, 2005 at the Hilton Southbury. Palomba made her mark as last year's Chairwoman of the Business Women's Forum event which brought in financial pundit Suze Orman and designer Chris Madden as keynote speakers. She continues to be active with the Business Women's Forum conference this year which will feature Carolyn Kepcher, Executive Vice President of The Trump Organizations and star of TV's The Apprentice, along with Dr. Janet Lapp, Psychologist and Motivator.

Lynn Ward, Executive Vice President of the Waterbury Regional Chamber of Commerce, says "I'm very pleased that the Business Women's Forum chose Donna as Woman of the year. She exemplifies what it means to be a business woman and that is mirrored in her dedication to the community."

Palomba joins a distinguished list of recipient of the award in past years including staffing executive Katherine Hanratty, Connecticut State Senator Joan Hartley, and Sister Marguerite Waite, former President of St. Mary's Hospital.

"I'm honored to join such a group of women as the recipients of the Woman of the Year award," says Palomba. "You work hard to build your business and to help move your community forward with no expectation of reward other than a healthy business and a stronger community, but I am truly grateful for this award.

Palomba is the thirteenth woman to receive the Woman of the Year award from the Business Women's Forum since 1992.
