The donation of the Special Olympics Connecticut (SOCT) website at www.soct.org is one of the many ways that The Worx Group has continued its commitment to the local community. The Worx Group is proud to be involved with an organization as extraordinary as SOCT. Donna Palomba and Joe Gugliotti are both managing members and cofounders of The Worx Group and value SOCT highly. Donna currently sits on the Board of Special Olympics Connecticut, while Joe is the former Chairman of the Board of Special Olympics Connecticut and currently sits on the Special Olympics' Honorary Board of Directors.

“Using our marketing and technology resources to build the new website for Special Olympics Connecticut has been rewarding,” commented Donna Palomba, Managing Member of The Worx Group. “SOCT is a fantastic organization and the athletes are a true source of inspiration for our team.”

Special Olympics Connecticut is a non-profit, charitable organization, which contributes to the lifelong physical, social and personal development of people with intellectual disabilities in the state of Connecticut. The SOCT program is one of the most innovative and dynamic in the world, involving thousands of people throughout the state in exciting and rewarding competition, training and special events. More than 10,000 volunteers, 900 coaches, numerous corporate and civic organizations, and over 5,000 athletes and their families make up Special Olympics Connecticut's winning team.

“The Worx Group helped us simplify our website and make it user friendly for our coaches and the people who run our local training programs around the state," remarked Beau Doherty, SOCT President. "The site is easy to navigate and allows our volunteers to download important information, which is critical to spreading our message.”

The Worx Group originally donated the SOCT website in 1999. Recently, The Worx Group redesigned and restructured the website with the user in mind, making it cleaner, more modern and easier to navigate. Some of the main goals of the redesign were to give the athletes and volunteers more exposure, and to make it easier for visitors to find timely information. The online hub is enhanced with Flash animation on the homepage, displaying a rotation of SOCT athletes and events. The header graphic on each internal section features images of the athletes, volunteers and events.

[Designer] Chris Bonini designed a beautiful site that is easy to use and is visually appealing. The photographs tell the story of Special Olympics Connecticut as each page delivers pertinent information to the visitor," acknowledged Laura Gremelsbacker, SOCT Director of Public Relations. "And [Account Manager] Julee Gugliotti did an incredible job managing our expectations and keeping this huge project on schedule.”
