Assisting the efforts against domestic violence and sexual assault, The Worx Group donates the design and hosting of the Safe Haven of Greater Waterbury, Inc. website.
Continuing our commitment to community involvement, The Worx Group developed the website for Safe Haven of Greater Waterbury, Inc. at http://www.safehavengw.org/. We donated the design and hosting for the online hub of service and support for domestic violence and sexual assault.

Safe Haven provides emergency shelter and free comprehensive support services to victims and survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. Safe Haven is committed to ending violence and sexual assault by changing the social conditions and beliefs that perpetuate violence against women and children. With offices in Waterbury and Southbury, Safe Haven serves the towns of Bethlehem, Cheshire, Middlebury, Naugatuck, Prospect, Southbury, Waterbury, Watertown, Wolcott, and Woodbury.
Stylistically, the website incorporates the burgundy color and delicate design sensibilities of the established Safe Haven logo, while introducing a comforting taupe color. The main imagery features insets of original stone artwork that frame a close-up photo of a person's face. As the website visitor returns to the homepage, these photos change to reveal different individuals within the domestic violence and sexual assault demographic. The tagline "you are not alone" remains consistent on the homepage as a constant reminder to those potentially seeking help. This extra personalization maximizes the effectiveness of the website.
"The Worx Group did an incredible job on the website. It is better than anything I could have imagined.," remarked Peggy Panagrossi, Executive Director of Safe Haven of Greater Waterbury, Inc. "This is going to be a great way to reach both our clients and our donors."
Through straightforward, easy-to-use navigation, Safe Haven's website clearly communicates the organization's many domestic violence and sexual assault services, statistics, facts and suggestions for helping victims. The online informational resource also provides warning signs to look for in possible victims, as well as plans for personal safety. People looking to donate time or contribute financially can do so by clicking the prominent "How You Can Help" link for more details.
"Safe Haven provides tremendous resources for people when they are most vulnerable," commented Donna Palomba, Managing Member of The Worx Group. "Their mission is very important to me personally, and I am pleased that we were able to help."
We were happy to do our part in communicating the agency's mission to end violence and sexual assault by changing the social conditions and beliefs that perpetuate violence against women and children.
